Choose to Stand in the gap!

Then I said, “They should also place a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the lord stood by. Zechariah 3: 1-5

It’s such an amazing and awesome discovery  that I can actually be more. God actually has room to receive more from me. More in terms of groundbreaking prayers for others. I can actually ask Him to do more for a fellow brother or sister out there.

The normal reaction is always to accuse and complain about people’s faults. O what a talent we all have at stating how evil or sinful others have been! To who’s pleasure? The enemy of cause! He likes that job well and is even happier when we help him with a little of it.

I see here a clear case of choosing to stand by others. Hear the prophet: “why not put a turban on his head also?” Hmmmmm…… And so was it done! God actually listens when we ask Him to add value to the lives of others! He actually can go the extra mile for just the sake that I chose to ask! So why not ask? Why the accusations? Stand in the gap on behalf of that brother/sister who has become lukewarm and don’t help the enemy in raising accusations!

Hey! It’s enough for the enemy to put rags on people with sin, don’t make the job messier with your own set of articulated mud slinging! Embrace the fallen one and help him stand again! Join hands with The Lord and bring more light to a soul that backsliding is it’s lot! Reach out to him/her, physically or in the place of prayer! Ask God to do more of His cleansing work on that soul! Let Him rejuvenate and revitalise the weakened and fallen soul!

May we not become fellow “accusers of the brethren “, just out to state people’s faults and then do nothing about helping them!

That person you claim you know everything about, can return if only you choose to stand for him/her, rather than add coals of fire on his/her head! To whose profit will you keep spending energy and words in emphasizing another’s weaknesses?

Yet God is ready to listen to you and put a turban on your brother’s/sister’s head; only if you are ready to take a step further step beyond the knowledge of his/her fallen state and only ask!

Ask! Sister, brother…I encourage you – dare to ask for more! Image
